As part of its charity activities, Transneft Kozmino Port has allocated RUB 1 million to the Vostochny Hospital of the federal state budgetary healthcare organisation ‘Far East Medical Centre of the Federal Medical-Biological Agency of Russia”. The hospital is located in Vrangel block.
The medical institution used the charitable funds to acquire specialised equipment for difficult high-tech knee surgeries.
The purchase of specialised equipment also allowed to improve the outfitting of the arthroscopic operating room of the medical institution. In particular, an arthroshaver medical device was purchased. It will allow to perform certain orthopedic techniques during surgeries. The institution also purchased special tools to equip the operating room.
The Vostochny Hospital has been providing medical care to Vrangel block for forty years. The number of residents covered by the medical institution is 15,000.
“Previously, in the case of a knee injury, we were forced to refer our patients to other hospitals where such surgeries were carried out. Starting this year, everyone who needs this type of medical care will be treated at the place of residence,” says Andrey Safronov, Chief Medical Officer at the Vostochny Hospital.
Every year, the oil port of Kozmino implements projects to support and develop medicine in its region of operation. This year, the port has financed premium cash payments to pediatricians and nurses of the Children’s Outpatient Clinic in the village of Vrangel. In addition to financial support, in line with the agreement between the oil port and the Nakhodka City Hospital, the medical personnel are offered preferential housing in comfortable apartments the Company has arranged for its staff. The project has been underway since 2018 and aims to attract professional pediatricians to work in the children's outpatient clinic located in a remote block of the city.
In total, from 2010 and as of October 2019, the oil port of Kozmino allocated a total of RUB 144.6 million for charity. Among the recipients of the charitable assistance are healthcare, education, sports and culture organisations of Primorye Territory.
