Kozmino Oil Port Confirms Compliance with International Standards in Environmental, Energy and Labor Protection

The environmental and energy management system compliance audit and occupational health management system compliance audit have been successfully conducted in Transneft Kozmino Port.

Based on the results of the audit, conducted by representatives of a large internationally recognised Russian certification organisation, it was confirmed that ongoing events meet the requirements of the international standards ISO 50001:2011, ISO 14001:2015 and BS OHSAS 18001:2007.

Specialists of the expert organisation got acquainted with the practical application of management systems at the facilities of the Kozmino oil port and their implementation in the Company’s executive office.

Improvement of the environmental management system in the field of strategic and operational planning of the environmental activities of the Company was noted. Among the strengths are participation in programmes for the artificial reproduction of aquatic biological resources in the area of ​​responsibility of Transneft Kozmino Port, reduction of specific air pollutant emissions in 2018 by 3% compared to 2017, as well as organisation of clean-up events.

Among the positive practices in the energy management system, the inspectors noted implementation of energy saving activities, which will save 171.44 thousand kWh of electricity and 60 toe of boiler and furnace fuels in 2019.  It was also noted that as part of summing up the activities of Transneft subsidiaries in the energy saving field, the port of Kozmino took second place in the Energy Conservation’s Leader. During the audit, special attention was paid to the occupational health management system. The group of auditors noted the achieved indicatorsб as well as implementation of policies in this area. The inspectors evaluated the high level of personnel’s preparedness for possible emergency situations, as well as employees’ awareness and competence in occupational safety. The Company’s Occupational Safety Day competition and the Best Occupational Safety Business Unit contest were also noticed among the positive aspects.

The auditors confirmed the fulfillment of the requirements of the international standards by Transneft Kozmino Port and decided to issue certificates of conformity.
