Transneft – Kozmino Port plans to save 76,100 kWh of electrical power in 2018, as part of an energy conservation effort.
Boiler and furnace fuels savings are expected to reach 35.8 tonnes. The measures are taken within an energy saving and energy efficiency improvement programme that has been effective since 2015. This year the measures are tied in with the Energy Conservation Year declared at Transneft and its subsidiaries.
In 2017, 240 LED lamps with long service life were installed in the indoor premises of Transneft – Kozmino Port within an energy saving initiative, which will allow to reduce power consumption at the Company’s facilities. Another 70 lamps were installed at open production facilities. Furthermore, automated systems that control the supply of heat to buildings depending on the air temperature were set up in 11 individual heat supply stations of the oil port. This year, the process of outfitting heat supply stations with energy saving equipment will be continued. Also, LED lamps will be substituted for 1,171 lamps at the Company’s production facilities. The said measures will save 600,000 roubles per year.
Rational use of motor fuel is also important for saving energy. Kozmino oil port operates 107 motor vehicles of various purposes: cars, trucks, passenger transport, road construction machinery and specialty vehicles. GLONASS system helps save fuel by promptly correcting transport routes to rule out unjustified downtime. In 2017, GLONASS saved 3.61 tonnes of motor fuel and in 2018 this figure is expected to rise up to 4 tonnes.
