Transneft — Kozmino Port has been declared the winner of the annual best OHS practices contest among the entities of Nakhodka urban district.

The award for best OHS practices was given to Transneft - Kozmino Port representatives at the ceremony hosted by the city administration. Overall, the contest had received 100 applications from companies of various industries.

To determine the best of the best, the committee took into consideration the results of the dedicated working conditions assessment, the regularity and the quality of employee medical examinations, the presence of a collective bargaining agreement and the occurrence of innovative ideas in the sphere of OHS. Zero occupational injuries at a company was the main criterion to win.

Kozmino Oil Seaport gives particular attention to life and health protection of its employees and safe working conditions during all production operations. The Company has adopted and is successfully running an OHS system that complies with the BS OHSAS 18001:2007 international standard. In 2017, the Company increased the allowance on free special clothes, footwear and other personal protective equipment, taking into consideration the proposals submitted by employees. All those changes were recorded in the collective bargaining agreement.

OHS Department specialists from Transneft - Kozmino Port have adopted an interactive system for training and retraining linear pipelines’ employees. The development enables faster, better quality trainings. The safe actions of this category of employees determine the accident-free and uninterrupted pumping of crude products. The new training is made similarly to the interactive induction training for all categories of employees, which proved its worth yet in 2016.
