Kozmino Oil Port Sums Up Professional Skills Contest

The Best in Profession skills contest among employees of Transneft Kozmino Port has finished.

Representatives of 10 blue-collar professions participated in the contest: truck drivers, electric and gas welders, instrumentation and automation fitters, commodity loading operators, processing units repairmen, excavator drivers, chemical analysis laboratory assistants, line pipeliners and electrical equipment repair and maintenance fitters. In total, 55 employees from the Company’s operational business units competed.

The professional competitions were held in two stages. Within the theoretical part, the contestants demonstrated knowledge of the operational process’ principles; in the course of the practical part, they demonstrated their skills in carrying out current operations. Evaluation criteria were the time spent to perform the tasks, the quality of the work done, the use of rational and safe approaches and methods of work, absence of errors and compliance with the rules of industrial safety and occupational health. According to the results of the two stages, the contest committee identified the top three in each category.

Winners and prize-winners of the skills contest were awarded with certificates and awards. Further, they will represent Kozmino oil port at the next stage of the contest among Transneft subsidiaries of the Far Eastern region of Russia, which will be held from May 27 to 30 in Bratsk.

The Best in Profession contest of professional skills is annually held in Transneft subsidiaries. The event contributes to employees' professional growth and enhances the prestige of the professions.
