Transneft Kozmino Port has organised a tour to operating facilities for students of grades 9–11 of secondary school No. 18, located in Vrangel Microdistrict.
During the excursion, the students got acquainted with the history of the Company’s creation and development, examined oil depot’s tanks and berth facilities. The oil port’s specialists told the students about the aspects of transporting oil through the pipeline and loading it onto a tanker. In the oil depot’s operator's room, the students were able to observe the filling of tanks with oil in real time.
The Company's specialists spoke about the main professions in demand at the enterprise. The future graduates were interested in modern requirements for the oil pipeline industry’s professions.
“I am sure that the tour, held within the career guidance programme, will be remembered by the students, and for some, it may become the stimulus to choose their future profession,” said Irina Fomina, the school’s principal.
Transneft Kozmino Port has been cooperating with secondary school No. 18 on vocational guidance for three years. The project is aimed at motivating students to receive education in the areas that are relevant to and that are in demand in the oil transportation industry. To this end, the Company has stuffed physics, chemistry and mathematics classrooms with the necessary equipment. The school has an advisory board, which includes representatives of Kozmino oil port.
